Marc Newson
Born in 1963 in Sydney, Australia. He relocated to Tokyo in 1987, where he worked and lived until 1991. In Tokyo, he designed different items that received international recognition. Some of his famous works are Black Hole Table, Felt Chair and Oregon Lounge. In 1997 he moved to live in London where he founded Marc Newson Ltd, a large studio that allowed him to approach large scale industrial projects, where he worked until 2003. He designed glassware collection for commercial use for Vitra and lighting products and home items for magis. Newson designs were and are displayed regularly in SFMOMA, MOMA in NYC and London Design Center. His unique approach to design is characterized by curvy lines and described as futuristic, sexy, witty, and original.
