Hila Laviv‘s work stems from chasing ghosts and deals with questions of reconstructing a vanished world, using family archival materials. These reconstructions produce multiple meanings – reconstruction in the sense of restoration or reconstruction to rebuild what was lost, or in the sense of reenactment as a performative, theatrical, and playful action. In her works, she asks questions about identity, belonging, homeland, and lost homes.
