Shay Alfia

A multidisciplinary artist who works and explores the phenomenon of reflection. Using ancient mirror-making techniques, She applies thin layers of precious metals onto glass, creating reflective surfaces with varying degrees of opacity. This process produces abstract stains that reflect the surrounding space and the viewer in a distorted manner. Her practice seeks to challenge representation and our self-image in today’s selfie-dominated culture, while expanding the boundaries of visual and conceptual perception through reflection.
