Shay Id Alony
Artist, designer, lecturer, and cultural entrepreneur, and one of the founders of ZUMU. He holds an MFA with honors from the Department of Art at the University of Haifa and is also a graduate of the School of Design and Innovation at the College of Management Academic Studies. A multidisciplinary creator, he works across sculpture, installation, and drawing.
His works explore the relationships between body, object, and space, examining the tension between architectural and design patterns and human–cultural phenomena such as taste, lifestyle, and belonging. Aloni is interested in the ongoing dialogue between object and user, and in the ways the environment shapes the body both physically and symbolically while simultaneously being shaped by it. His works carry a ritualistic energy and move between strength and vulnerability, monumentality and fragility.
His works have been exhibited at the Israel Museum, the Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Haifa Museum of Art, and are included in the Knesset collection as well as in public and private collections.
