In this work, Ofra Zimbalista chose a pure, abstract, and minimal elemental form. The sphere, made of metal with a rust-colored tone and rough texture, resembles a fossil or a body unearthed from the ground, charged with the memory of time and material. It continues Zimbalista’s exploration of transforming objects into “frozen testimonies” – entities existing between reality and art. The sculpture reflects her tendency to endow everyday forms with a universal character, extending beyond the local into a broader sculptural language.
